AMPTEC
620EXV Intrinsically Safe Voltmeter and "No Voltage" Comparitor
(Green LED "Safe"or Red "Hazardous Voltage level" daybright
LED seen from 100 feet away)A
NSN 6625-pending
The AMPTEC 620EXV "No
Volts" Intrinsically Safe Voltmeter is both an
EEX certified "Intrinsically Safe" portable digital voltmeter and also a Voltage Comparitor with (daybright green LED) "GO - Safe level or No Voltage" or (daybright red LED) "NO-GO" a hazardous voltage level is
present (preset level too high).
The LEDs' can be seen from 100 feet away - It is used
to safely monitor the absence or presence of any "stray" voltage (AC or DC or
both) between any two connections (ie chassis and test point connection) in an
explosive/volatile or hazardous atmosphere.
It has both a daybright green "GO" LED
for a preset level such as <60mV, 100 mV, 150 mV, 250 mV etc or any
other voltage level (contact AMPTEC for details) indicator (for
safe) and a red "NO-GO" LED for any level greater than the preset level
( >60
mV,100 mV, 150 mV, 250 mV etc, whenever an unsafe or
hazardous voltage level becomes present. The DVM informs the
operator of any voltage
level from 10 mV up to 99.99 V, and withstands 120VAC input
without
damage. Checks test lead integrity and is British Defence Ministry
Safety Board & ATEX Certified as
an EEX Approved Safety Voltmeter.
ATEX certified
"Intrinsically Safe" Ex
nA nL IIC T4
from 0°C to + 50°C.
After
extensive environmental tests (1.0 KG Steel Ball Faceplate
Impact,
Temperature, Dust and Salt Water spray) and exhaustive electronic
circuit and mechanical review (for Intrinsic Safety Compliance) SIRA an
Independent British Testing Laboratory has certified the
AMPTEC 620EXV Safety Voltmeter as "Intrinsically
Safe".
They further state the AMPTEC 620EXV has ATEX Safety
Certified Rating as being Ex nA nL
IIC T4
and is also Ex II 3G
status from 0°C to + 50°C compliant.
*
4 digit resolution from 0.00 volts RMS AC/DC Volts to
99.00 Volts AC/DC
* Easy to Use , No Guess
Work required, Voltage Monitor Comparitor - If
any voltage (AC, DC or both) under test is less than (a specified
level ie. 60 mV), it is considered safe and the green daybright "GO" LED is
lit and
PASS is displayed then the
actual voltage. If the voltage is
more than (a specified preset level ie 60 mV) its considered
hazardous and the red daybright "NO-GO" LED
is lit (visible from 100 feet away), and "Fail" is displayed and then the
actual (ACVrms and or DCV) voltage is automatically displayed in
standard digital voltmeter format.
* Selected by the
UK Ministry of Defence as the replacement for
their aging inventory of
old analog "No Volts" meters - ideal
replacement for obsolete, and aging analog "No Volts"
meter.
The AMPTEC 620EXV offers uncompromising Safety,
Ruggedness, 4 digit resolution,
0.1 milliohm resolution with "No Warm-up" required its ready to use
when turned on.
*
Instant "ON", "No Waiting for a Warm-up Period", it's
ready to
use immediately after being powered up - The solid state
internal reference(s) used by the AMPTEC 620EXV "No Volts"
Safety
Voltmeter make it ready to use the instant it's power
switch turned
"on".
* Reinforced All
metal (
Faraday Cage) construction (front, back and all sides),
textured powder
coated aero aluminum (AL 5052 alloy), all connected to front
panel chassis ground jack - meets DEF STAN 59-41 Radiated Emmissions
DRE01.B/DRE02.B and Susceptability DRS01.B/DRS02.B Standards . At
-20°C, the unit's front panel has been hit with 1 KG Steel
ball impact
(from 0.7 meter drop) and still does not allow any water (IP-54) to
penetrate into the interior of the instrument.
*
Separate battery compartment, operates on 4 ea "AA"
re-chargeable NiMH batteries. They are field
replaceable batteries without
breaking the calibration seal. There is "No access to any electronics
inside the unit's battery compartment". It's also water-tight
(gasket sealed compartment) and is corrosive
resistant Per MIL PRF
28800D to any battery leakage or any chemical
corrosion.
*
Ruggedized use -Silicone rubber boot covers on all
switches protects
the instrument against saltwater spray, rain and dust.
* United
Kingdom's AMPTEC 620EXV "NSN package" includes 1) protective
conductive carrying case, 2) Operator/maintenance
manual and 3)
U.S.A. N.I.S.T Traceable Calibration Certificate.

Volts

Rear
Panel view of the AMPTEC 620EXV "No Volts" Safety Voltmeter
The AMPTEC 620EXV "No
Volts" Safety
Voltmeter can typically operate for up 24 hours without a
charge
on its 4 "AA" NiMh batteries. The AMPTEC 620EXV "NO VOLTS"
meter
operates on 4 "AA" rechargeable batteries (NiMH ). It's
automatically powered "off" and can't be used when charging. The
battery compartment is separate from all electronics. The user can
change batteries and not effect the instrument's calibration.
Calibration is performed covers "ON", remove calibration sticker
&
hole plugs for access. The battery compartment cover is gasket
backed to provide a water tight seal. The battery compartment is also
MIL PRF 28800D compliant to be protected against any battery corrosion
(leaking alkaline material). There is also a convient side
panel
mounted easy grip handle for carrying the unit outside of its padded
case ( NSN package etc.).
Easy to
Calibrate "No Covers to Remove"
In addition, once the
tamper resistant calibration sticker is removed the the AMPTEC 620EXV
No Volts Safety Voltmeter's rear panel, it's a breeeze to
calibrate. There
are "No Covers" to remove, the PMEL or calibration facility simply
connects the 620EXV
No Volts Safety Voltmeter's
to the proper Voltage Standard and has
two
simply adjustments to make (trigger set@60
milliohms and fullscale
set@30.00 VRMS ohm). Calibration hole plugs are also included (inside
carrying case pocket) if the AMPTEC 620EXV
No Volts Safety Voltmeter user
desires to use them.
Integrity
of Measurement and an instrument's accuracy is important to us.
It should be important to you. To provide proof, in
writing,
that an
instrument is truly accurate, many
instrument companies charge
extra for a
new instrument's calibration certificate, Not at AMPTEC RESEARCH.
All new AMPTEC instrumentation comes with a U.S. N.I.S.T. traceable
calibration
Certificate, good for 1 year, at "No Extra Charge". After the 1 year
calibration interval has expired on your AMPTEC
meter, we can still re-certify the product for you. Contact our
customer service department for details. |
